今週末、3月4日(土)、3月5日(日)はいよいよ雪割草新潟大会(日本・新潟雪割草まつり)が開催されます。
本格的に雪割草が咲き始めるシーズンに開催される新潟大会では、毎年展示品に力作がたくさん並びます。展示品の数は確か、300点を超えていたと思います。やっぱり日本雪割草協会の主催する全国大会とこの大会が一つのピークといっても過言ではない、と宣伝しておきます。
事実、雪割草の花にも早く咲くものと遅く咲くものがありますが、3月初旬が一番平均的に咲いてくるころなのです。なのでその時期に行われる展示会に優秀な花が集中するのは、当然といえば当然といえます。
もちろん、早咲や遅咲きもありますし、他の展示会にも秀花はたくさんでるのですが、平均的に、無理せず出展しやすいのがこの時期ですね。無理矢理加温して咲かせたりせず、自然に咲いてきたものなので姿もいいものが多いはずです。
なお、来週は第1回目となる「魚沼大会」もありますので、そちらもまさに本咲シーズンなのでどんな花が並ぶか楽しみですが･･･とりあえず今週末は是非新潟大会にお越し下さい。
場所は例年通り、燕三条地場産業振興センター(メッセピア)の1階、多目的大ホールです。詳しい場所は以下のホームページで。
